Gilligan's Island
We groovy people still laugh at this "fish out of water" series.
Remember that one episode where the professor figures out a way to get everyone off the island, and Gilligan messes it up? That was my favorite!

Miss Kitty's Bustle
We groovy people would not dream of declaring that people today are getting dumber, but Miss Kitty's bustle seems to be a much groovier (and wiser) approach to beauty than that of yet another victim of vanity dying from surgical implants.

Imperfect Produce
There is a company in the Berkeley/Oakland area that delivers imperfect (we didn't say ugly) produce to your door, for 30% less than grocery store prices.THANK YOU!
We groovy people appreciate healthy and delicious food that did not win a beauty contest.

Old Money
Old money is groovy, because it seems more authentic than the toilet paper being printed in the past 4 or 5 decades.
Old paper money certainly has collector value above its face value, but if the government tells you there is gold on deposit, do you believe them? I have no way to prove it.
I like old coins. They have value as money, but more importantly, they have melt value in the event of a financial meltdown.
You really can't lose with "old money." Very groovy, old money.

Birdbath
We groovy people are kind and generous. Since we have the means to share, we are obligated to share.
We share our clean water with the birds, and they share their beauty with us.

These Are Our Neighbors
These are our neighbors. A book about neighbors. How groovy! Ginn Readers (Faith & Freedom series) as we said, are the grooviest books around, but this book deserves special mention since school started back today.

Surprise Corn Dog
Kid President lists 20 things people ought to say more often.
We groovy people definitely agree.
You rock, KP!

Roman Samuels

Aside from the fact that we're kin (in Wisconsin they call them "kissing cousins") here is an interesting musician, and groovy guy. (We're going to talk about the Bill Withers addition, though.)
Look Ma, no braces! Nice looking young man.

Funny Face
This groovy drink was better than Koolaid (Sorry, Koolaid Man) because each flavor had its own character.
Character matters.

Smocking
Is this not the most precious thing you've ever seen? We groovy people love to see little girls in smocked dresses & sun suits. Cute cute cute! And groovy.

Drink Accessories
We groovy people know that accessories make drinks better.
This menehune man from Trader Vic's is the perfect complement to any fruity island drink.

We Want Beer
This is intriguing. Prohibition era, perhaps? Groovy, nonetheless. I want beer, too.
Ben Franklin supposedly said, “Beer is proof God loves us and wants us to be happy” but he may have actually said wine.
Whatever.
Let's be happy.
Thanks, God!

Ahead of the Curve
Just in case you thought that We Groovy People were all about the glorious past, THINK AGAIN!
Now that adult coloring pages are a thing, we groovy people will take this opportunity to remind you that we are, in fact, 3 years ahead of you.
Do It Yourself Peter Maxx
You're welcome.

Groove Cats
So then, Groove Monkey told all his friends in the Groove Animal Kingdom how he was able to talk the admin into his own blog post because Groove Bunny had one.... and Groove Cats came and cat-wiped their way into their own post as well. We're letting Groove Cats in because we love their cousins, the lolcats. Could be an interesting trend or a slippery slope.
Stay tuned, groovy people.

Fractional Birthdays
Why not celebrate all the birthdays, all the half birthdays, all the quarter birthdays, all the 7/8ths birthdays, all the... well, you get the picture.
Philosoraptor just wants to make me think too hard. Grumpy cat exudes his usual sarcasm.
If you're going to celebrate properly, don't invite these guys to your party.

Scott Ginsburg
This guy has worn a name tag since 2000, because it makes him approachable.
We groovy people admire his having leveraged an idea into a brand, an enterprise.
Good business sense. Good, groovy approachability.

Wall Decals
Theoretically, you could put any message you want on your walls. You don't need a neat vinyl decal like this- you could use spray paint, shoe polish, or glitter glue.
We groovy people like this one, though, for both its aesthetic and positive message. That's the kind of reminder we want to put into our souls.

A 10 year old boy threatening to rid the world of music. Oh, what an evil scheme! Pass the popcorn. I can't wait to see how it works out.

Sonny Bono
We groovy people admire Sonny Bono. There is so much more to this man's life than most people realize. He truly was one of the good guys. We groovy people believe that he would be rolling in his grave if he knew the direction his beautiful daughter took with her life.

Lunchboxes
Remember lunch boxes? Every person, real or fictional, that you loved (we groovy people still love Henry Winkler) was probably featured on a lunch box. Almost everyone with whom we groovy people ate lunch brought their lunch to school. We groovy people do not remember free lunches. Ever. No such thing.

Easy Bake Oven
We groovy people have to admire a toy with longevity - 50 years! It has its own book, web pages devoted to it and those who collect it/them.
The popularity probably had to do with the combo (kids + food). We groovy people wanted this toy in 1967, more than we ever wanted anything. Didn't get it. So, we groovy people teach our kids how to bake with a REAL oven, from a young age. Because we can.

Groove Bunny's cousin, Groove Monkey, was jealous and wanted to be included in the blog.
So we let him.
Jury's still out on his grooviness, though. We groovy people will watch him and update you later.

John Hancock
Given that we groovy people have already, years ago, declared penmanship to be groovy, we groovy people are still in awe of the fact that our founding fathers thought to stand up for righteousness.
And John Hancock signed his name big enough that ol' King George could see it without his glasses. Or spectacles. Or whatever it was they wore to see back in 1776.
Gumption. Well played, John, well played.

Red, White, and Blueberries
What a great, groovy idea for a holiday themed breakfast! (We groovy people would eat this for dessert, a snack, maybe even lunch if no one were looking.) This idea from Mom On Timeout takes toaster waffles to a new level of grooviness! Enjoy!

Walking Taco
You take a small bag of nacho Doritos (or Fritos) and crunch them up. Then, you add to that same bag, all the other taco ingredients (meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, sour cream) and eat it with a fork or spoon... to go. Way cool. Way groovy. And portable! Yum!

Onomatopoeia
No one taught us onomatopoeia better than Batman and Robin.
We groovy people see that Calvin & Hobbes are also a fan of it (and so is Marvin the Martian.)
