Do you?

Barbie Shoes
Barbie wears high heels ALL the time. Yet she never complains that her feet hurt. Why? Because the shoes were custom made for her feet. We groovy people want shoes like that.

Bumbershoots
Alternative forms
* bumberchute rare * bumberschutz from the German bumber (storm) and schutzen (protect)Noun
(en-noun)- It smells like rain. Perhaps we should take along abumbershoot .
- "It--it belongs in our family," said Button-Bright, beginning to eat and speaking between bites. "This umbrella has been in our family years, an' years, an' years. But it was tucked away up in our attic an' no one ever used it 'cause it wasn't pretty."
- "Don't blame 'em much," remarked Cap'n Bill, gazing at it curiously. "It's a pretty old-lookin'bumbershoot ."
- "Me ol' bamboo, me ol' bamboo, you'd better never bother with me ol' bamboo, you can have me hat or me bumbershoot , but you'd better never bother with me ol' bamboo."

Aubergine
"Aubergine" sounds so groovy, exotic, sexy even, when you talk about the color of clothing, home decor, nature, or paint.
But eggplant?
Not so much.

Shadows
Things are not always what they seem.
Don't just look with your eyes.
Grooviness is sometimes only on the inside.

Sand Castles
You spend all afternoon building something that you know is not going to be there tomorrow.
What's groovy about it is that it forces you to live in the moment. You have to appreciate what you have NOW.
A groovy way to live - every moment.

Lady Bugs
Totes adorbs! (Ladybug, can I say that?)
Ok, we'll stick with groovy.
Don't want to have to rename the blog:

Could, but won't.

Vin de Constance
We groovy people believe it's only fair that if Tess gets her own wine, Constance should, as well. Oh, look! She does. Isn't that groovy! Next time we groovy people visit South Africa, we shall surely imbibe.

Mexi Pep
We groovy people don't really care for hot sauce, but the name makes us laugh, especially recalling the Mama's Family episode #109 "Dependence Day."
Maybe you had to be there.
Still groovy.

Newspaper Domination
Who, again I say who, is going to tell this cat to get off the newspaper and let someone else read it? Not we groovy people; that's for sure.

We groovy people do not confuse Maple Syrup with HFCS-sweetened "Pancake syrup."

We groovy people haven't yet actually tasted this groovy wine yet. We love the name, though, so we're waiting for Tess to show up before we pop the cork.

Open Windows
These groovy pets like open windows. When the weather finally cools off enough that you don't need A/C, we groovy people and our pets hang out by open windows every chance we get.

Edith Flagg
We groovy people have listed Edith Flagg as one of the people we never met in this lifetime, but plan to get to know in the next. Josh, we groovy people are so sorry for your loss.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Harry McAfee's Rant
I have tried to run this house on a democratic basis. I have extended the privilege of self-determination to both the woman I have married and the children I have sired. The vote has been denied to no one for the reasons of age, sex, or political affiliations. There has been no taxation without representation and open covenants have been openly arrived at.
Last night I gave up my room to a guest who repeatedly referred to me as “Fats.” Telephone calls were made on my phone to New York, Chicago, Fairbanks, Alaska, and Hong Kong. I slept in a camp cot with my feet in the fireplace and my head in an ashtray while, outside my window, three harpies shrieked, “We love you Conrad,” 4723 times!
Gentlemen, the democracy is over! Parliament has been dissolved, the Magna Carta has been revoked, and Nero is back in town.
And you do not offer an emperor a warm 7-Up!!

Holistic Pet Health
When we groovy people visit Tampa, we will be sure to stop in this groovy establishment to pick up healthy snacks for our groovy pets.

Figs
We groovy people do not have a fig tree in our yard. If we did, we would surely be in figgy heaven. Just to stand under the sprawling umbrella of branches and *inhale* the smell of warm figs in the middle of July on the Gulf Coast, is heaven on earth.
Very, very groovy, those figs.

Gilligan's Island
We groovy people still laugh at this "fish out of water" series.
Remember that one episode where the professor figures out a way to get everyone off the island, and Gilligan messes it up? That was my favorite!

Miss Kitty's Bustle
We groovy people would not dream of declaring that people today are getting dumber, but Miss Kitty's bustle seems to be a much groovier (and wiser) approach to beauty than that of yet another victim of vanity dying from surgical implants.

Imperfect Produce
There is a company in the Berkeley/Oakland area that delivers imperfect (we didn't say ugly) produce to your door, for 30% less than grocery store prices.THANK YOU!
We groovy people appreciate healthy and delicious food that did not win a beauty contest.

Old Money
Old money is groovy, because it seems more authentic than the toilet paper being printed in the past 4 or 5 decades.
Old paper money certainly has collector value above its face value, but if the government tells you there is gold on deposit, do you believe them? I have no way to prove it.
I like old coins. They have value as money, but more importantly, they have melt value in the event of a financial meltdown.
You really can't lose with "old money." Very groovy, old money.

These Are Our Neighbors
These are our neighbors. A book about neighbors. How groovy! Ginn Readers (Faith & Freedom series) as we said, are the grooviest books around, but this book deserves special mention since school started back today.
